①The plating layer is too thin
Generally due to the lower concentration of plating solution, lower temperature, lower pH or shorter plating time and other reasons lead to the workpiece electroless nickel plating is thin, when the plating thickness is not enough, the hardness will be lower, can be plated thicker to solve the problem, here to say a few more words, the use of certain electroless nickel plating solution if you want to plate thicker, the products made out of the plating prone to pinholes, blistering and other problems, you can use the Bigely elelctroless nickel plating solution Ni-811, even if the plating thickness of 20 microns, there will be no plating failure.
② Improper heat treatment
Generally speaking, the workpiece electroless nickel plating after heat treatment can improve the hardness of the plating layer, for the phosphorus content of 9% or so of the medium phosphorus electroless nickel plating, nickel-phosphorus alloy hardness of 500HV, 400 ℃ heat treatment 1h, the hardness can be increased to 1000HV, and can be compared with the plating of hard chrome. Therefore, when we heat treatment temperature is lower or heat treatment time is shorter, it will reduce the hardness of the coating.
