1. Protective decorative chrome plating. Gives metal products, machines and various parts a beautiful and shiny appearance while protecting them from the harmful effects of the surrounding medium. Usually, protective decorative chrome plating is done with copper and nickel or only nickel as the base layer. Because the chromium plating layer is characterized by porous, no base layer and when the plating layer is thin, it can not protect the iron from rusting, usually the thickness of the chromium plating layer is 0.25 ~ 0.5 μm. Because the surface of the workpiece decorative chromium plating can be obtained after the mirror bright silver-blue plating layer, it can be widely used in the automobile, bicycles, sewing machines, clocks and watches, instruments and meters, daily-use hardware, and other parts and components of the protection and decoration.
2. Hard wear-resistant chrome plating. The plating has very high hardness and wear resistance, which can extend the service life of the workpiece. The thickness of hard chrome plating is generally 5～50μm, or as needed, some as high as 200～800μm. It can be generally used in cutting and drawing tools, various materials of pressing molds and casting molds, bearings, shafts, gauges, gears, etc., and can also be used to repair the dimensional tolerances of the parts to be abraded.
